Bali bids farewell to underground music venue Koh

Just over a week ago, fans of underground music venue Koh in Bali got a last minute message.

“I just want to give you a heads up that tonight will probably be the last night koh will be open the way it is,” it began. “So I wanted to invite you down for one final dance with us.. Let's give the bunker the send off it deserves.”

This past weekend, the club confirmed the news in a Facebook post.

And just like this, house and techno fans in Bali bid adieu to one of the island’s few underground music venues.

The club was only open for a turbulent two years and while some may have predicted its closure, it touched the hearts of many along the way being a hot spot for music lovers, DJs, producers and then some. Its late night/early morning hours certainly helped its cause.

During its run, Koh hosted international acts like Skream, Answer Code Request, James What, Alexkid, Maayan Nidam, Apollonia and Move D. It was also a regular spot for regional talents like Sunju Hargun, Oliver Osborne, Arun R and Damian Saint while also acting as a home for the team behind Secret Life Bali. Gone but not forgotten, we’ll miss you and can't wait to see what you come up with next.
