Studio Adventure once again transported festival-goers into a cosmic realm with its fourth edition of Odyssey that unfolded on the picturesque shores of Vietnam’s Phú Quốc Island.

Nestled in an isolated enclave where tropical trees, sandy beaches, and glistening waters converge, the newly chosen venue, Chez Carole Beach Resort, provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable way to ring in the new year.

With three stages each boasting its own vibe, setup, musical selection, and artistic direction, Odyssey offered a multifaceted journey for all attendees, who enjoyed immersing in the perfectly-tuned sound systems while accompanied by trippy lightwork and projections.

With a crowd of 1.500, the festival struck a perfect balance – large enough to animate the dancefloors yet intimate enough to foster genuine connections between attendees.

Without a doubt, the highlight of the event was the stellar line-up, showcasing a superlative mix of talent from Asia and beyond at each of the three stages.

For New Year’s Eve, the main stage hosted an impressive lineup of both international and regional acts, featuring artists like Mr Ho, Luca Lozano, Nadet, Known Artist, and Wada Yosuke. Over on the Pagoda stage, attendees witnessed a takeover by the Saigon-based V2X crew along with Hanoi-based music studio HUM, showcasing local stars Larria, Tizone, Nodey, Minoto, and concluding with a set by South Korea’s Kugel. The third stage, curated by the Japanese crew Asobi, introduced an intimate vibe with experimental rhythms that captivated dancers all night long.

The meticulous attention to detail extended beyond the musical line-up, with great work on sound tuning, lights, and projections enhancing the sensory experience for those in attendance.

As the event continued into the early hours of the new year, the afterparty saw a seamless transition, with local scene stalwarts TrinhNu, Viet Anh and Wahren Boy kicking off the night before handing over the reins to Hong Kong’s Yunus and Singapore's Strange Weather who ensured dancers kept on going well into the sunrise.

Speaking to Mixmag Asia, members of the Lion City crew share: "All of us had a blast. It’s really important for us to link up and build relationships with like- minded people around Asia — crews who believe in creating platforms for local and regional talents to shine. We’re really happy and grateful to have a chance to share our sound with the Vietnamese scene in such a beautiful setting."

They also added how they enjoyed seeing fantastic live acts and local DJs for the first time thanks to the event, and consistently praised the friendly and cooperative atmosphere throughout the venue, from the organisers, dancers, sound engineers, bar staff and beyond.
