Inaugural GLOWBALL Festival announces first round of acts

GLOWBALL Festival is set to make its mark on Taiwan's scene on June 1 at Taipei Music Center and has just dropped its inaugural line-up.

At the helm of GLOWBALL Festival is DJ/producer Sonia Calico, who aims to lead attendees on a journey of transcultural dance and celebration.

The festival's name, derived from the homophone of "global", reflects its commitment to diversity, blending "glow" and "ball" to symbolise radiance and celebration.

More than just a music event, GLOWBALL Festival aims to foster community and celebrate diverse cultures through electronic dance music.

Leading the charge is Lady Shaka, an Afro-Pacifika and Femme Queen dancer who incorporates Maori and Pacific indigenous chants into her performances, captivating audiences with her irresistible queer charm and energy.

Also joining the line-up is Howie Lee, known for his innovative fusion of traditional Chinese aesthetics and modern electronic elements, promising a visually stunning live audiovisual performance.
